Laron Stallings Exhibit
Of Fur and Feather
In March our Vault Gallery will feature paintings by Laron Stallings.
Of Fur and Feather is inspired by the diverse ecology of eastern NC, and more specifically, the wildlife of the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge.
Through this body of work, Laron explores the unique connections of the wildlife that call this place home. Focusing on the red wolves, bears, and the many birds species of the region, the paintings move the viewer to consider the importance of these wild spaces.
"I hope my work transports the viewer, or recalls a memory of a striking encounter in nature. I paint in thin layers to create a veil-like, ethereal effect. Using loose line work and color, I strive for a dreamscape rather than a photographic style rendering in paint."- Laron Stallings
