In June, our Courtroom Gallery will feature photography by Francesca Beatrice Marie and paintings by Olha Fidyk.
Resilience is an art exhibition featuring a collection of paintings and photographs that explore finding strength and purpose in every situation. Through their body of work, Francesca Beatrice Mărie and Olha Fidyk reflect on resilience in people, nature, and everyday life, capturing stories of perseverance and hope.
The exhibition also delves into the deep challenges and struggles that provoke resilience, revealing the profound moments that shape our ability to endure and overcome.
Through her art, Olha transforms personal and shared experiences into meaningful visual narratives.
Francesca’s work is deeply rooted in her distinctive vision of the world, which she seamlessly integrates into her creative projects.

Resilience will be on display June 6-28, 2025 in our Courtroom Gallery. There will be an opening reception on Friday, June 6 from 6pm to 8pm, where visitors can meet Francesca and Olha and view their work. The opening reception is during First Friday in downtown Manteo and is free and open to everyone.
Olha is an artist and designer who has spent over a decade living and working in the Outer Banks community, creating drawings, paintings, and murals that explore the complexities of the human experience. With an education in Fine Arts and Computer-Aided Drafting Technology, Olha combines creativity and precision to craft work that engages both the mind and the heart.
Francesca is an artist, published photographer, and award-winning filmmaker with a passion for storytelling through documentary. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, she holds a degree in Film, Media, and Theater Studies, along with a minor in Art History. Learn more about Francesca on the button below.
