Celebrating the Arts in Dare County
In Memory of Mollie A. Fearing
Every May the annual Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show returns to the Dare County Arts Council Gallery. The annual “Mollies” show features an eclectic mix of artwork. This show is held in memory of Mollie A. Fearing, one of the founders of the Dare County Arts Council.
Kids' Art Festival
Artrageous is a free annual arts festival for children, featuring live art demos, kids activities, art vendors, music, dancing, delicious food and fun for the whole family. The event is organized and staffed by volunteer artists, musicians, crafters, dancers, writers, photographers and other creative people who dedicate their time and energy to the event each year. Sponsors, volunteers and artists are encouraged to become involved in this Dare County community tradition.
Celebrating Art On Cape Hatteras
Rock The Cape is a celebration of the creative community on Hatteras Island with live music, art demonstrations and activities for children. The festival promotes the arts from Rodanthe to Hatteras Village, including gallery tours, an art show and of course the Rock The Cape concert.
New World Festival of the Arts is an annual juried outdoor festival featuring fine art and fine craft. Hosted by Dare County Arts Council and the Town of Manteo, the Festival provides local and regional artists an opportunity to display and sell their creative work. This is a family-oriented show, which takes place on the Manteo Waterfront during August of each year.
The Longest Running Visual Arts Show In Dare County
The annual show is held in memory of Outer Banks preservationist and artist Frank Stick. The exhibit is on display every January at the Dare County Arts Council Gallery in Manteo.

Unleash The Power Of Art
The Power of Art program serves special groups in need or with limited access to arts programming and education. The program's objective is to give those with disabilities and difficulties with self-expression the opportunity to create and make critical decisions through unique art programs. The program was designed to utilize the fundamental power of art to create new outlets for the participants’ memories, dreams and aspirations.
Celebrating Veterans in Dare County
The Outer Banks Veterans Writing Project is part of the Veteran-friendly events sponsored by the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau during November’s Outer Banks Veterans Week.
Performing + Literary Arts
The Courthouse Sessions are a compilation of virtual performances featuring Outer Banks musicians. The Courthouse Speaker Series brings cultural scholars from a variety of disciplines to our local population and online audiences.

A Downtown Manteo Tradition
First Friday is a fun-filled, family-oriented street festival held the first Friday of each month, April through December from 6 to 8 p.m. in Historic Downtown Manteo along the Waterfront. The sidewalks pulse with live music, magic, artisans, period-dressed actors, a rockclimbing wall and much more.
