The Great Art Heist Returns To Dare Arts In October

Presented by TowneBank

Dare Arts’ benefit art auction, The Great Art Heist, will open at their Gallery in downtown Manteo on Friday, October 6 at 6pm.

The opening reception will include libations, hors d'oeuvres and live jazz music by Devin Frazier and Ed Tupper. The reception is in conjunction with Manteo’s First Friday festivities and is free and open to everyone.

This year’s Great Art Heist will feature the work of over 100 local and regional artists that guests can bid on in-person and online at DareArts.org/artauction.

“The Great Art Heist is the premier fundraiser for Dare Arts and it would not be the success that it is without the support of generous members of our community,” said event chairs Bea Basnight and Gail Midgett. “This year’s event committee is so very appreciative for the continued support of TowneBank who once again is sponsoring The Great Art Heist. We hope you will join us in October to support the Arts on the Outer Banks.”

Registration to bid is now open online here. The Great Art Heist will be open for bidding in person at the Dare Arts Gallery and online from October 6 through October 27.

Once The Great Art Heist opens, Dare Arts will be offering extended hours on Thursdays. Gallery hours while the auction is open are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10am to 5pm, Thursday 10am to 7pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm and closed Sunday-Monday.

If you can't make it to opening night, plan a private viewing of The Great Art Heist with a group of friends during the month. To schedule a private viewing, please email Dare Arts Executive Director Jessica Sands at DareArtsInfo@gmail.com.

Final bids must be in by 7:00pm on Friday, October 27.
