Dare County Arts Council Presents Swing!

A Gala Benefit Featuring Up-and-Coming Swing Band 504 Supreme Presented by TowneBank

Dare County Arts Council will host Swing!, the latest in its series of annual fundraising events on Saturday, October 26 at Pirate’s Cove Pavilion in Manteo from 7pm-12am.

Presented by TowneBank, Swing! will celebrate the golden age of the Big Bands, with décor, music and menus that harken back to the dancehall days of the Outer Banks of the 1940s.

“TowneBank is honored to once again be presenting sponsor for the Dare County Arts Council’s annual fundraiser,” said Taylor Sugg,

President of TowneBank North East North Carolina. “For more than 40 years, the Dare County Arts Council has worked to ensure that the arts are celebrated in Dare County and beyond. TowneBank is excited to be a part of Swing! – an evening full of fun, music, and good food, that at the same time will help the Dare County Arts Council continue to fulfill their mission.”

The evening will feature live entertainment by 504 Supreme and The Truetone Honeys. Making their Outer Banks debut, the energetic and enthusiastic musicians from 504 Supreme play all the Big Band hits of the 1930s and 1940s.

"504 Supreme was created out of a love for traditional jazz and swing music, and a passion for entertaining audiences in the most energetic, authentic way possible,” said trumpet player and frontman of 504 Supreme Matt Fattal. “The band draws influence from legends like Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. The Truetone Honeys are a force of their own, a female vocal jazz trio embodying all the style and musicianship of female jazz groups of the early 20th century - these Virginia songbirds sing, dance, and really swing! We are thrilled to be performing in the Outer Banks for the first time, with both bands! Our goal is to create an unforgettable and unparalleled musical experience for every show."

In addition to their live performance, 504 Supreme will also be offering swing dance lessons to guests at the event. Guests are encouraged to embrace the theme and dress in their best golden age attire.

Proceeds from Swing! benefit DCAC’s Power of Art program, which provides art instruction and experiences to groups with special challenges, including children and adults with developmental disabilities and adults with dementia.

Tickets to Swing! are $125 per person and can be purchased at the DCAC Gallery in downtown Manteo or by calling DCAC at (252) 473-5558. Additionally, guests and businesses may reserve sponsored tables of eight beginning at $1,500. Seating is limited, so be sure to reserve your tickets in advance.

Thank you to TowneBank for returning as the Dare County Arts Council’s presenting gala sponsor for the third consecutive year.
