Whispers of the Outer Banks: Coastal Impressions by Kate Leal
In March, our Vault Gallery will feature Whispers of the Outer Banks, a collection of paintings created by local artist Kate Leal.
The month-long exhibit will manifest the essence of the Outer Banks through Kate's nuanced acrylic pastel compositions. The imagery is gathered from surrounding locations including Roanoke island, Bodie Island, Hatteras Island and Manns Harbor. Kate's style of painting embodies texture to create forms, and a soft color palette that embraces a familiar feeling of life here on the Outer Banks. Kate's artistic passion is expressed in her acrylic pastel paintings, where she delicately navigates the interplay of soft contrasts, ambient light, and subtle shadows within the coastal landscapes of coastal North Carolina.
