Dare To See The World
Outer Banks Film Society
The Outer Banks Film Society is dedicated to screening independent films, movie classics, documentaries, world cinema, and shorts to audiences in our community.
Operating during the fall and winter seasons, the Outer Banks Film Society will offer an enriched film program that includes film-related speakers, filmmaker discussions, and special events to enhance its mission and increase the public’s appreciation of fine cinema in all its forms.
Film societies give audiences varied and adventurous programming that cannot be found in local movie theaters.

How do I join the Film Society?
The Outer Banks Film Society was created to foster a community that appreciates the art of film. Unlike purchasing a ticket to go see a movie at the local theater, you join the Outer Banks Film Society through an annual or seasonal membership. With an annual membership, a member gets twelve films, plus member-only discounts for other film related events, including the Surfalorus Film Festival in September and the Environmental Film Festival in November. Seasonal memberships for fall and winter offer six films each season. Please note that the Outer Banks Film Society has a certain number of memberships available due to seating capacity at the venue.
The film society will provide special film retrospectives, interesting discussions, and social events for members.
The majority of the films will be screened at Dare Arts in Manteo.
