About
On Wednesday, September 18 from 2pm to 4:30pm cancer survivors, patients and their caregivers are invited to join artist Catherine Hamill for a free paint-along class at the Cowell Cancer Center in Nags Head.
The subject to paint will be a hummingbird. The amazing and calming hummingbird reminds us of the uniqueness of our humanity. There will be lessons including the art of mixing colors, creating realistic shapes and shadows, recognizing the colors of nature, and creating the perspective of near and far. Composition will also be discussed. Students will feel confident about their work, and will leave with a completed painting on stretched canvas ready for framing.
No experience required. This workshop is for first-time painters as well as more advanced painters.
Cost: Thanks to a Community Benefit Grant from Outer Banks Health, this workshop is free for cancer survivors, patients and their caregivers, and all supplies are included.
Although class is free, pre-registration is required so that the instructor can plan ahead for supplies. You can register online at DareArts.org/workshops or by calling Dare Arts at 252 473 5558.
Class is limited to 15 students.
Class location: Class will be held at at the newly opened Cowell Cancer Center in Nags Head.
