Dare Arts' Mission is to Encourage Arts Through
Advocacy, Enrichment and Opportunity.
Located on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina, Dare Arts is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to encouraging the arts in Dare County through advocacy, enrichment and opportunity. Dare Arts strongly believes that the Arts are essential to the creation and sustenance of a thriving, vital community.
Dare Arts advocates for diversity and recognizes that our differences make us stronger and more creative. We work every day to foster a safe and inclusive culture that welcomes everyone. We believe that the arts on the Outer Banks are enriched when voices representing all people are respected, acknowledged, and exhibited.
Dare Arts operates a fine arts and craft gallery for emerging and established artists, providing a constantly rotating exhibit of local art. The gallery is located in the historic 1904 Dare County Courthouse, located at 300 Queen Elizabeth Avenue in downtown Manteo, NC.
We feature paintings, pottery, works in printmaking, jewelry, wood design, fiber art, and glass, as well as a fine selection of prints. We also host the Art-O-Mat, a vending machine designed to dispense only original works of art!
Each month we feature at least one new exhibit, with an opening reception held each First Friday from 6pm – 8pm. Our receptions are always a lively event with live music, light fare and libations.
Additionally, we have a constantly rotating selection of artwork. This makes for a fresh viewing experience and encourages visitors to come back often.
Our Gallery is operated entirely by our extraordinary volunteers and managed by our Gallery Director and Gallery Manager.
If you are interested in displaying your work with the Dare Arts Gallery, please see our gallery guidelines on this website or contact the Gallery Director.
Stop in often and support our local artists!
