2024 Rock the Cape Festival
The 12th Annual Rock The Cape will celebrate the visual and performing arts on Hatteras Island June 6-7.
The free, family-friendly event will include an art show, concert and gallery tour.
On Thursday, June 6 there will be a full afternoon of art and live music at Kitty Hawk Kites' Waves Village Watersports Resort at Milepost 40 in Rodanthe.
On Friday, June 7 Rock The Cape will host Friday Arts on the Island, which is a First Friday tour of the galleries on Hatteras Island.
Art Show + Concert Details
The Rock The Cape art show and concert will be held from 2pm to 7pm on the lawn at Kitty Hawk Kites' Waves Village in Rodanthe.
The Rock The Cape Art Show will feature over 20 local artists selling their original, handmade arts and crafts. To see the list of participating artists, click the button below.
The free concert will take attendees on a musical genre tour. The stage schedule is listed below...
- Hatteras musician family jam at 2pm
- Contemporary Celtic music by Nova Scotian duo Cassie and Maggie at 3:45pm
- Special performance by students from Hatteras Island Community Strings at 4:45pm
- Pop, funk and soul tunes by Night Routine at 5:30pm
Gallery Tour Details
On Friday, June 7 Rock The Cape will host Friday Arts on the Island, which is an all day self-guided tour of the galleries on Hatteras Island.
The galleries participating in Friday Arts on the Island will have demonstrations, classes, sales, raffles, music, food and drink, and more happening at their locations.

Rock the Cape Festival History
Rock the Cape was started in 2012 as an initiative to celebrate the galleries, artists, and artistic community on Hatteras Island.
The annual event is held at the beginning of summer as a way to kick off the busy season on the island.
Rock the Cape brings a full slate of artistic activities from Rodanthe to Hatteras Village, including an art show, live art demonstrations, a concert, and much more.
